Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts Announces Fall Events

Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts has announced the following upcoming events:

ASU Concerts at The Center
Claude Debussy, 150th Anniversary

Monday, September 10, 2012, 7:30 p.m. (Pre-Concert Talk, 6:30 p.m.)

Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, Virginia G. Piper Theater

General Admission: $10 (Free for All Students)

One of the most brilliant and original composers in history, Claude Debussy was born 150 years ago this fall. In celebration, Steinway Artist Walter Cosand performs an evening of Debussy’s piano music, including some of his most familiar pieces, as well as several exquisite but very seldom played works.

Mary Chapin Carpenter
Saturday, September 29, 2012, 8 p.m.

Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, Virginia G. Piper Theater

Tickets: $39, $49, $59

By combining folk, country, acoustic, rock and blues, Mary Chapin Carpenter defies the conventional boundaries of the music industry. A five-time Grammy Award winner, she has always professed a love for all kinds of music, and those influences come together in songs that speak to the most personal of life’s details as well as to the most universal. Carpenter’s newest album, Ashes and Roses, was released in June on Zoë/Rounder Records.
