Theater Works final summer camp begins next week with INTO THE WOODS, JR. The Brothers Grimm "go Broadway" as Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine offer up a cockeyed fairy tale where all of your favorite characters - Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk) and The Witch - meet and interact on their journeys.
With more than 40 speaking and musical roles available this summer camp is going to have it all. Acting, singing, dancing, encouragement, stage productions and best of all ... FUN. This three week camp finishes off with a full costumed production and your child performing on stage. Theater Works' final camp is filling up fast, so don't delay and sign up today.
Theater Works' summer camps are not only fun and exciting but they help build character, skills, self confidence and team work. Located in the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts, a new state-of-the-art facility, our professional theater instructors provide a non-competitive and safe environment for your child to grow in the performing arts.
INTO THE WOODS, JR.'s sophisticated score has been adapted - though it is still challenging and exciting - for young performers. The musical is a funny and engaging way to get young people to think about the stories with which they've grown up and the ethical issues raised therein.
Camp begins next Monday, July 16th and will run until August 3rd, Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Before and after care are available for a small fee. For more information or to register please call the Box Office at 623-815-7930. The Box Office is open Monday - Friday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. For more information, visit the website at theaterworks.org.
