Hairspray is performing in Peoria as a Theater Works' Youth Works special presentation.
Winner of eight 2003 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Hairspray will "sweep audiences away to 1960s Baltimore in this international smash-hit musical, piled bouffant-high with laughter and romance - and enough deliriously tuneful songs to fill a nonstop platter party. It's time to let your hair down and dance the night away with music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman and a book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan. Youth Works' Hairspray is directed by award winner Athena Hunting, Musical Director Jay Melberg and Choreographed by James Marinaro.
