TAB president Robert Brunschmid says "APPLAUSE FOR HOPE audiences can enjoy their show even more knowing that they have contributed to the fight against cancer." Brunschmid continues, "There are such a variety of shows playing in February we hope that patrons will consider seeing more than one APPLAUSE FOR HOPE performance-perhaps at a theatre they have yet to attend."
The Theatre Alliance of Buffalo (TAB) is a consortium of Western New York professional theatre companies dedicated to promoting the welfare of its 20 member organizations and appreciation of the art of theatre.
In 2012, Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) brought worldwide attention to Buffalo when it launched a clinical trial for a cancer vaccine that has the potential to be a game changer in the treatment of cancer. To reach this level of early-stage testing is a significant achievement and the vaccine shows great promise for treating patients with many kinds of cancer tumors. Right now, efforts are underway at RPCI to secure funding for the next phase of the clinical trial, which is expected to begin this year.
