Description:

Chi Am Circle’s signature commitment to education has been its scholarship awards programs. For over 40 years, Chi Am Circle has provided scholarships for graduating high school seniors in Santa Clara County. In 2017, an additional category of scholarship was established – the Chi Am Circle Outreach High School Scholarship for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

The Chi Am Circle High School Scholarship awards range in value from $1,000 to $5,000. The program is very competitive and scholarship recipients are selected based upon a variety of factors including academic achievement, community service, financial need, and noteworthy extracurricular activities such as work, performing arts, and athletics. To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

 

  • Be a high school senior in the current academic year
  • Have a minimum 3.3 unweighted cumulative GPA in high school
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal resident
  • Reside and go to school in Santa Clara County, California or be the child or grandchild of an active Chi Am member
  • Be of Asian descent as defined by the California Department of Education,   https://www.cde.ca.gov/ls/nu/sn/racialethniccat.asp  
  • Be a college-bound in the Fall after high school graduation and provide proof of acceptance and enrollment to  an accredited two or four-year college (Exception: If you are a special needs student, as defined by Section 504 of the Education Code, you may attend vocational training.)
